Album Cover research...

This is an album cover by the arctic monkeys. This album "favourite worst nightmare" is the monkeys second studio album and was released in April 2007. This album is probably the most popular one by the monkeys. I think the album artwork represents mainly one of the songs on this album "this house is a circus". Seeing as the cover is mainly taken over by a house and what looks like a circus inside of it, it jumps out at me that this album artwork is most probably inspired by that song in particular. This has now inspired me to think about one of "Iris Polly's"songs and take my ideas from that to put on my front cover.

Ladyhawke's album cover for her studio album "ladyhawke" is a favourite of mine because its so random. The only part that really gives me some inspiration is the fact that this cover was made using watercolour. Obviously i don't want my album cover to be all watercolour based. However i do think that i could use a watercolour effect on my album cover, as it gives the cover an original effect.

This album cover by "The Drums" is for their debut album released in June this year. Although its a simple cover, it really matches their ideas. I think by just looking at it, is that it would be quite easy to create. Even though its very simplistic (like some of their video's) it is so effective and original. If i could get letters like that, i would really think about doing something similar to this.

"The Libertines" is the second album by the British indie rock band The Libertines. Released in August 2004, it particularly shows the relationship between two members of the band, Pete Doherty and Carl Barat. This album instantly reached number 1 in the U.K. The thing i like about this and all of the libertines artwork is the font. The font that the band use to promote anything of theirs, is really bold and eye-catching and is what you instantly see when looking at album covers and posters etc.
